Her artwork consists of several series of photos, modified by hand, transformed using different techniques. All captured on video, in order to see the progressive degradation. Thanks to this process, a photo can become 10, each showing a different path, like the one we would take and which determines what we become.
Artist biography
Self-taught, Emma Depres is developing a plastic and photographic production alongside her video practice. Since 2015, she has been capturing real-life moments in the manner of a life documentary, and placing them in an imagined universe during editing. With a constant concern for composition, her works catalyze an aesthetic oscillating between a nostalgic sensibility, which reflect an anguished spleen of a shining ideal.
